Gerry Mills: Engineering & Mtnce Supervisor, Nexen Chemicals, Nanaimo, B.C.
(purchased 2 - 4 step Joe Scaffold 18” width deck units with 36” narrow footprint)
“We use them to work on our cells in position. We are able to get up to adjust and redo cell gaskets. We used them on the seawater line. We had to cut out a leaking section and replace it. The guys are really happy with them. They come in handy on a number of occasions where you need a small platform in a tight space."
Grant Sullivan: Mechanical Design, Polycon Industries, Guelph, Ontario
(purchased 2 - 3 step Joe Scaffold 18" width deck units)
“We use it for overhead work: hanging florescent lights, hanging balancer track for hand tools, getting at some high spots for welding. We use it for general cleaning in the facility and painting. It works great. We enjoy the convenience of not having to move a ladder. Its light. The guys seem to like it. Its seen enough use.”
Dwaine Charest: Plywood Millwright Chargehand, Riverside Forest Products, Kelowna, B.C. (4 step Joe Scaffold with 18” wide deck, handrail)
“We use the Joe Scaffold for when there are plug-ups in the dryers which happens a few times a month. It’s a good cantilever. We set one side in the dryer and run an air chainsaw while standing on it. We use it to change rolls. We can set the height to where we want it. People seem to like it for that purpose. It works well for what they use it for.”
Daniel Derby: Safety, Environmental & Mtnce Coordinator, Weyerhaeuser South Island Reman, Chemainus, B.C. ( 5 step Joe Scaffold with 18” wide deck, handrail)
“We found it good for the platform in around the boilers. We used to stand on auger tubes but now find our Joe Scaffold to be a better platform. The fact that it’s lightweight and easy to set up is good as well.”
Gary Lofstrom: Maintenance, Cascadia, Chemainus, BC ( 5 step Joe Scaffold with 18” wide deck, handrail)
“We use them for cleaning the ash scrubbers on our wood boilers and for changing ballasts for fluorescent lights. We use it to change 10 HP pump motors. Its stable. Its got a handrail on it. You don’t have to worry about stepping off of it."
